Dear Sticky, Sexy, Sad followers and friends
This blog has been such an adventure – and I promise it’s not over yet. However, while penning these articles I realize that I want to share my experiences about more than Bumble.
So, I’m expanding my writerly, reflexive journey on my new website. Here, I can share all the shades of me – my anthropological, creative and academic work.
My aim is the same as the original blog, to pull you into conversation about modern life, relationships, health, and wellness. This new platform gives me more of a playground to address the complex nuances of life in ways that I hope will remind you that none of us are going it alone.
Visit my NEW website for this week’s blog post and to read all about the different kinds of work I do and things that I care about as an academic, activist, and engaged woman in the world
I look forward to seeing where these new streams of thought and discussion will take us.

I'm an Associate Professor in the School of Health Studies at Western University in London, Ontario. An anthropologist with cultural and medical expertise, I conduct ethnographic research with women and others in sex work, people with HIV/AIDS, and Indigenous populations. My special research interests include sexuality and sex work, gender, marginalization, and the politics of health. Along with contributing to different academic and community settings through her research and activism , I enjoys creative writing and recently had a poem published in Anthropology and Humanism, entitled ‘Arboreal’ I'm currently working on on a manuscript that examines how feminist culture, sexuality, and gendered power dynamics are being (re)configured through Bumble, the worlds first ‘feminist’ dating app. I live with my cat, Elliott, and enjoy yoga, engaging with the arts, travelling, spending time with family, and finding new ways to experience the world.
